KY-020 Tilt Switch Sensor Module for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32
Introducing the KY-020 Tilt Switch Sensor Module, your perfect companion for movement-oriented projects. This sensor module reacts sensitively to movement, closing the circuit when tilted to the side. The activation depends on the degree of inclination and the applied force, making it an excellent choice for projects requiring precise motion detection.
The module houses a metallic ball switch with bidirectional conduction. It is designed to open or close the circuit when tilted, providing instantaneous feedback. A unique feature of this module is its sensitivity towards the inclination. When the module is tilted, a ball inside momentarily short-circuits the contacts, providing a unique responsive mechanism.
Despite its advanced capabilities, the KY-020 is compatible with a wide range of microcontrollers. Whether you’re using an Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or ESP32, this module will seamlessly integrate into your system.
Key features:
- Operating Voltage: 3.3V ~ 5V
- Output Type: Digital
- Effective angle: 35°
- Consists of a 10kΩ resistor, a metallic ball switch, and 3 male header pins.
- Dimensions: 19mm x 16mm x 7mm
- Please note, this module does not measure the tilt angle.
Connecting the KY-020 to your system is straightforward. Connect the module’s Power line (middle) and ground (-) to +5 and GND respectively. The signal (S) can be connected to pin 2 on the Arduino.
Wiring to Arduino:
- KY-020 S: Connect to Arduino Pin 2
- KY-020 Middle: Connect to +5V
- KY-020 – : Connect to GND
